Scarlett’s Plan is a charitable organization based in the United States that helps seniors and people facing terminal illness arrange second forever homes for their beloved pets all across the United States. We are currently in the process of finalizing our 501(c)(3) status.

Scarlett’s Plan provides a free service to help seniors and terminally ill people arrange homes for their pets. Rather than housing animals in a foster system, we arrange for them to move directly from their home into a second forever home.

our story
Scarlett’s Plan was inspired by our founder, Layla, whose passion for helping animals goes back as far as she can remember. The idea truly took shape after a frail calico cat wandered into her garage one day and refused to leave. Layla named her Scarlett. She cared for her lovingly, and Scarlett spent six peaceful months in her home before passing away.
Through research Layla discovered a huge void in the animal community - seniors and terminally ill patients faced with the unimaginable choice of having to rehome their pets or take them to a shelter. This lead to her launching Scarlett’s Plan in 2025.
